My name is David Vest, I accepted the Lord as my savior at age 6. I am the 7th child in my family and I rebelled in my walk in my late teens through my 20’s, I was very much like a prodigal in my walk. My wife never stopped praying for me to allow God back into my life. Over a decade later. I recommitted myself to God. Being the faithful Father, he redeemed me through faith and my repentance. My wife was my childhood sweetheart. We have been together for 51 years and married for 45. Two grown boys, 1 granddaughter, 1 great-grandson. In my retirement, God moved us from Northern California to Idaho to begin another chapter in our life together. God nudged us we to leave Northern California landing about 30 miles west of Boise in Caldwell. God helped us find our new Church home before we moved. Since arriving we both have served as group leaders since 2017. volunteer Discipleship Director position, which I still hold for Men’s discipleship, and served a term of 3 years as President of our Church Board. . My wife and I have supported Wycliffe Associates as donors since 2011. While the world was still dealing with COVID, I applied for a Missional position that was opening up with Wycliffe Associates focusing on North America. This represented a great departure from a retired life view I perhaps may have had. My Pastor often says” If you’re not dead, God’s not done”. How true that is and how blessed I am to be able to serve him in such a meaningful way. My new title is Intercultural Engagement Director. Essentially, this allows me to focus anywhere where we see a need in North America. I love watching people be empowered to translate the word of God for their own people from a gateway language into their own heart language through Church Owned Bible Translation (COBT) and Train The Trainer (T3) programs. These two things together allow various individuals to be trained to teach this same system to other interested individuals who can assist in the meaning-based Bible Translation, done for and by their own people.

And this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith...
