The Center for Tech and Civic Life hit the jackpot with the Zuckerbergs. Whereas their operating budget had been around $1 million per year, in 2020 the Zuckerbergs contributed around $350 million. With this windfall of cash, they effectively bought an election. Money that had previously been unavailable was now able to be spent around the country where needed to help elect Joe Biden.
