China’s Economy Affects The U.S. Economy

So what is going on in China anyway? We've seen China lock down entire cities. Shanghai and Beijing, which is China's economic strongholds for their cities, have been entirely just locked down. That's 180 million people in China that have been affected by the recent COVID lockdowns.

These lockdowns are having a lasting impact on their economy, and China is having a hard time bouncing back after COVID because while they're still dealing with something down there, or at least their government is letting them believe that they are. Why is this all happening right now at a recent online gathering of top Chinese economists?

There was a sense of urgency that filled their meeting. They pointed out that China's economy is deteriorating, and the idea was to do whatever it takes to get it back up and running.

Today, the US-China trade relationship actually supports roughly 2.6 million jobs in the United States across a range of industries, including jobs that Chinese companies have created in America. China has become an integral part of the global manufacturing supply chain.
