You've heard the term "so bad it's good".  An unspoken corollary to that is that bad things only become good when you can share in the pain.  Nobody is watching The Room or Cats by themselves.  They're bad movies.  It's better when you can look around and verify that yes, what you're watching is bad, but in a funny way.
